Accel Transmatic Ltd. announces financial results for the 2nd Quarter and Half Year ended September 30, 2007

Quarterly Turnover up by 37.23 % at Rs.120 mn and Profit After Tax up by 8% at Rs. 11.4 mn compared to the corresponding period last year.

For the Half-year period, the turnover was up by 46.7 % at Rs. 224.8 mn and Profit After Tax up by 15.37% at Rs. 21.6 mn compared to the corresponding period last year.

The board has approved allotment of warrants convertible into shares on a preferential basis to strategic investors and business associates subject to completion of required formalities.

Chennai, October 26, 2007:
Accel Transmatic Ltd. announced its unaudited financial results for the second quarter ended September 30, 2007. On a consolidated basis the company recorded a turnover of Rs. 120 mn against Rs. 87.4 mn for the corresponding period last year. The EBIDTA has improved to Rs. 25.4 mn from Rs. 17.9 mn, registering a growth of 42 % over the corresponding period last year. The company declared a Profit After Tax of Rs. 11.4 mn after providing for tax expenses of Rs. 4.05 mn against last years PAT of Rs. 10.5 mn and tax expenses of Rs.1.18 mn respectively.


For the half-year ended September 30, 2007, the company has posted a Net Turnover of Rs. 224.8 mn and Profit After Tax of Rs. 21.6 mn up from Rs. 153.3 mn and Rs. 19.9 mn respectively for the first six months of the previous year. Registering a growth of 46.7 % in turnover and 15.4 % growth in PAT over the corresponding period last year.

The wholly owned subsidiary Accel Academy Ltd. has entered into an exclusive arrangement with the Karnataka State Open University to offer University Degree Programs and Post Graduate Diploma programs for the State of TamilNadu in selected sectors such as Computer Science, Business Administration, BPO, Forensic Technology & Cyber crime, Audio & Video Production and Retail Management. The courses will be offered through its centers.

Accel Academy Ltd. (AAL), training arm of the Accel group and a wholly owned subsidiary of Accel Transmatic Ltd. has been appointed exclusive ‘Academic Co-ordinator’ for Tamil Nadu region, for specialized courses being offered by Karnataka State Open University.

Dr. Janardan Jha, Senior Adviser, Dayananda Sagar Global Education (DSGE) announced this tie up between AAL and DSGE during his visit to Accel headquarters, Tuesday 16th October 2007.

Mr. N. R. Panicker, Chairman, Accel group of companies, acknowledged this appointment as a recognition for Accel Academy, which has 16 years of experience in IT Training industry and a large presence in Tamil Nadu and Kerala through its own Centers.

With the arrangement with Karnataka State Open University, Accel Academy will offer University Degree Programs and Post Graduate Diploma programs in selected sectors such as Computer Science, Business Administration, BPO, Forensic Technology & Cyber crime, Audio & Video Production and Retail Management.

The courses are focused on meeting industry demand and are designed to enhance knowledge in functional areas important to the corporate sector. AAL now offers these courses from Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) through their study centers under the Distance Learning Methodology. Dr. Jha pointed out that the courses have been selected based on the large number of employment opportunities being thrown up in these sunrise sectors, which face severe talent crunch. Accel Academy, with its training industry experience and well-spread network of Centers is an ideal partner to effectively execute such programs and enable large-scale career development. Mr. N. R. Panicker mentioned that the contact programs will be conducted through Accel IT Academy Centers and a limited number of franchisees, initially in Tamil Nadu.

Accel Transmatic Ltd announces quarterly performance for the quarter ending June 30th 2007.
Chennai, July 20, 2007
Accel Transmatic Ltd. (ATL) announced its unaudited quarterly results for the quarter ending 30th June 2007, which was taken on record by the Board of Directors on 19th July 2007.


For the quarter ended June 30, 2007, the company has posted a consolidated net turnover of Rs.10.48 Crores against Rs.6.62 Crores during the corresponding quarter of the previous year, registering a growth of 58%. The EBIDTA went up by 60% to Rs.2.20 Crores against Rs.1.40 Crores during the corresponding period last year. The Profit Before Tax was up 66% at Rs. 1.33 Crores against Rs. 0.80 Crores for the same period last year. After providing for deferred Tax liability of Rs. 0.17 Crores, the company has declared a profit after tax of Rs.1.01 Crores.

Announcing the quarterly results, Mr. N. R. Panicker, the Chairman of the Company said, “During the first quarter, the company has improved its all round performance. Our initiative with Accel Animation Studios has received wide acceptance. The Government of Kerala has allotted two acres of land in the Film and Video Park SEZ in Thiruvananthapuram for the company to set up its campus for animation and gaming development. The newly formed subsidiary, Accel Academy Ltd. is planning for expansion of their training centers to newer territories in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh during the current financial year.”

Mr. T. Ravindran, President of the Systems Division said: “We have obtained approval during the first quarter for the railway ticketing systems to be installed in the Western Railway and initial shipments have been made. We would now be completing the deliveries of the initial orders during the second quarter.”

Mr. S. Muralidharan, CTO of Accel Animation Studios said, “During the quarter we have completed work on a Visual Effects project for a feature film to be released shortly. We are on target to complete the first release of ‘South India Fables’ for LongTale Inc. and the first episode of ‘Raju the Auto rickshaw’ for Kahani world Inc. of Canada during the second quarter of the financial year.

Accel Transmatic Ltd. (ATL) announced its audited consolidated financial results taken on record by the Board of Directors for the financial year ended March 31, 2007.

For the financial year ended March 31, 2007, ATL has posted a Net Turnover of Rs. 35.03 Crores and Profit Before Tax of Rs. 3.13 Crores up from Rs. 29.35 Crores and Rs. 2.57 Crores respectively for the previous year.  On account of extra-ordinary items, the Company declared a Total Income of Rs. 41.78 Crore and Profit After Tax of Rs. 4.31 Crores. Considering the encouraging financial performance, the Board has decided to maintain the dividend at 6 % conserving the resources for future use.
Key Highlights:
There has been a smart turn around in the performance of all the Business Units.

The newly launched Animation Division had a brisk start with three customer wins within the first six months & Co-Production agreement signed with 2 North American Media companies.

The company has unveiled ambitious plans for expansion in the Animation Division including setting up of a Motion Capture Studio for the first time in India in the Kinfra Film and Video Park in Thiruvananthapuram by September 2007.

The Transmatic Systems Division’s new initiative to design and manufacture automated utility payment kiosks and ticket vending systems, has been well received. Major orders coming in from the Banking and Government segment.

The embedded software division (Ushus Technologies) doubled its export turnover during the year with 2 new client acquisitions in Japan.

The company launched a wholly owned subsidiary in California, USA in Jan 2007 to market its services.
The Training Division was hived off as a wholly owned subsidiary effective 31 March 2007 to leverage the opportunities in the fast growing Training market.

Annual Performance for FY 2006-07
Announcing the audited financial results for the year, Mr. N. R. Panicker, Chairman of Accel Transmatic said, “In FY 07, the company undertook new initiatives that has created a robust foundation for the company to grow from strength to strength in the coming years. The year has also been financially successful with growth in both revenue and profits. New clients with good revenue potential have been added during the year. We strongly believe that the momentum could be maintained in the next few years, which will enable us to achieve our growth targets.

Mr. T. Ravindran, President of Transmatic Systems Division said: “During the Year we launched three products for the Government, Utility and Banking Industry segments. All the products have been well received. We remain confident of the overall business prospects and our recent wins will help us to continue to grow in the subsequent quarters“.

Mr. S. Muralidharan, CTO of Accel Animation Studios said, “We have received very good appreciation from the international market for South India Fables, our Thirukural based animated serials, being distributed worldwide by LongTale Inc. Los Angeles. We are also working on a few projects currently with “Kahani World” of Canada. Along with these tie-ups we have also in the process of setting up India’s first Motion Capture Studio in KINFRA Film & Video Park, Thiruvananthapuram. We are confident that our multi-pronged strategy of working on IP based and Service based models in 3D Animation, VFX and Gaming will enable us to become a leading player in the Animation Industry.”
